I started with Kennecott in March of 2005 after completed an M.Sc. in kimberlite volcanology and an undergraduate degree in geological engineering. Since starting with Kennecott I have had the opportunity to work in environments that range from a comfortable office in Vancouver to a remote mountain top in Alaska. I am currently a project geologist with the North America Energy team, based out of the Vancouver office working on projects in the Cote Nord region of Quebec. I have worked in a variety of locations in the United States and Canada from the West Coast to the East Coast participating in exploration for coal, copper, gold, diamonds, nickel and uranium. My work is diverse and covers a wide range of exploration activites from desktop studies and modeling through to field work, including mapping, sampling, core logging, and managing projects. I have also had the opportunity to spend time at Rio Tinto's Northparkes copper mine in New South Wales, Australia, and the Resolution Copper project in Arizona as well as visiting the Argyle Diamond mine and Bingham Canyon Copper mine. Through my career with Kennecott I hope to continue to experience a wide range of environments and challenges that help me to develop professionally and aid in the discovery of new deposits to meet future supply demands.

Geologist
Since beginning employment with Kennecott Exploration in January 2006, I have been involved in a variety of exploration projects. I have worked on porphyry copper targets in south eastern Arizona and Utah, as well as near-mine exploration around Greens Creek mine in Alaska, and reconnaissance fieldwork in Quebec. I have received training in Health, Safety, Environment and Community practices, and have attended two company-sponsored geology short courses, one of which was held Chile. I have also been running a drilling project in Montana during 2007. In general since my hire, it has been demanding, exciting, and very interesting!
