Project Engineer

Cécile Michoux, a project engineer at the UGS plant, holds a bachelor's degree in pure physics, as well as in engineering physics. Her role is to manage projects involving process control.

"Being given such responsibility is very stimulating. The greatest challenge is to constantly find new ways to upgrade operations at the UGS plant. We also optimized part of the acid regeneration operation by improving the automation and ergonomics of the control room in order to make the operator's job much easier."

"First we developed a high-performance process unlike any other in the world to extract iron and titanium from ilmenite, then we came up with other innovations. We are constantly looking for new ideas to improve our systems and are thus always faced with exciting challenges."

Marko Litalien

Superintendent at the UGS plant

"This is a nice, safe place to raise our three children. We have access to all the services we need. Plus, the homes are more affordable than in neighbouring areas - a major advantage. One of Sorel-Tracy's claims to fame is that we have more than 1000 soccer players living here. It's a paradise for anyone who loves sport, and all three of my children play."
