Magnificent scenery and so much to do

Labrador City was incorporated in 1962 and offers all the amenities of any modern urban centre. Good schools, medical facilities, sporting and recreational areas, shopping centres and plenty of outlets for entertainment.

There is much to do in Labrador City both during the summer and winter months. During the summer activities such as golf, shooting, fishing, walking on the many beautiful walk trails, the annual regatta and taking part in summer festivals are all popular. During the winter months, both downhill and cross country skiing are 'must do' sports. There are also facilities for ice-hockey, skating and skidooing on specially prepared trails.

Sept-Iles is located on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River, 640 kilometres east of Québec City. It was built on the shore of a large circular bay which is protected by a group of seven islands that gave the city its name.

The social infrastructure of the city fulfils the needs of a population of around 25,000 people including a diversity of health, housing, recreational and educational services.  There are two national parks within easy reach of the city. These are popular with hikers, birdwatchers and those who enjoy a summer picnic.  In winter, skiing and skating are the best ways to keep warm.
